This presentation looks at the efficacy of medical male circumcision (MMC) as a method of HIV-prevention and explores the benefits of circumcision for men who have sex with men (MSM). The social and cultural dimensions of circumcision are also highlighted.

This presentation was given by Anova CEO Prof. James McIntyre at the Regional Workshops on HIV Prevention among Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) which was hosted by the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), Office of the Global AIDS Coordinator (OGAC), with additional support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
