Mind, body, HAART: JHB - Integrating mental health into HIV care

The Anova Health Institute will be presenting the “Mind, body, HAART” symposium, on October 31st & November 1st, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
THE PURPOSE of the symposium is to explore the mental health needs of people living with HIV/AIDS, with a view to encouraging integrated care and reducing the impact of mental disorders on people living with HIV.
RECENT DEVELOPMENTS in HIV mental health treatment and care will be discussed and practical skills training on the assessment of common mental disorders and psychotropic prescribing will be offered. The symposium is aimed at clinical doctors and nurses, service providers, health service managers, and researchers working with people living with HIV/AIDS.
The conference will consist of:
BURSARIES will be awarded based on motivations submitted to the conference organizer. Preference will be given to clinical doctors and nurses working in primary HIV care.
A limited number of MEDIA BURSARIES are also available.
CPD accreditation is offered.
