This historic commitment is the largest by any nation to combat a single disease internationally. PEPFAR, through USAID, is Anova’s biggest source of funding.

Orange Babies

Orange Babies

Orange Babies is a foundation that provides support for pregnant HIV-positive mothers and their babies in Africa. The foundation also provides support for children infected or affected by HIV. Anova’s Family Free project in Limpopo receives funding from Orange Babies.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) conducts and supports basic and applied research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases. For more than 60 years, NIAID research has led to new therapies, vaccines, diagnostic tests, and other technologies that have improved the health of millions of people in the United States and around the world.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency—making important medical discoveries that improve health and save lives. NIH is the largest source of funding for medical research in the world. Anova is a partner in the NIH-Funded CIPRA-SA research programme as well as the International Maternal Pediatric, Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials network (IMPAACT).

The University of California, San Francisco is a leading university dedicated to defining health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences, health professions and excellence in patient care. Anova partners with the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies at UCSF’s AIDS Research Institute for its MSM-related work in Mpumalanga.

Global Fund

Global Fund

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria provides grants on a discretionary basis in support of technically sound and cost-effective interventions.

Anova receives Global Fund support through the Networking HIV/Aids Community of South Africa (NACOSA) for its work with men who have sex with men (MSM).

JHHESA: Johns Hopkins Health and Education in South Africa (JHHESA) uses a strategic communication approach that combines facts, creative ideas and theories to respond to health-related issues. Anova’s HIV & AIDS Media Project receives PEFFAR/USAID funding through JHHESA.
