Take note of HIV: A real page turner
7 February 2012
Anova’s HIV & AIDS Media Project has developed and published a nifty little notebook, designed to provide essential information on the medical and social aspects of HIV for the reporter on the run.
In a context where journalists are often left adrift in in the technically dense and socially complex topic of HIV, this little notebook is a journalist’s best friend. Six easy to reference inserted pages tackle the technical aspects of the virus and feature practical tools for HIV reporting.
Information included in the notebook covers PMTCT; Conception and HIV; How HIV treatment works and the regimens used in South Africa; HIV risk as it relates to certain groups; TB and TB treatment and traditional and medical male circumcision.
The information leaflets included in the printed notebook are available for free download from the HIV & AIDS Media Project’s JournAIDS website.
