Anova’s Dr Coceka shares her experience in the new One International publication

17 January 2012

The head of Anova’s PMTCT programme, Dr Coceka Mnyani, is in good company in One International’s latest publication. Coceka is among a handful of HIV notables, such as former US President George Bush and renowned HIV researcher Luc Montagnier, who shared their stories in the  ‘The Beginning of the End of AIDS’.

Coceka’s vignette follows her time working in the prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) spanning from 2007 to present. The leaps forward that the HIV specialist has seen during her career are testament to how far the world and South Africa in particular have come in making progress against the virus.

‘The Beginning of the End of AIDS' suggests that if the massive progress already made is accelerated, 2015 will mark the beginning of the elimination of AIDS.
